DENIM

Know Your Denim
Denim is known all throughout the world due to its use in the fabrication of jeans and other clothes items, but what exactly is denim, and why is it so important when it comes to jeans?
Traditional denim is a fabric formed from weaving cotton threads in an "over 3 under 1" pattern on a loom, this creates a consistent diagonal pattern on the fabric surface that denim is known for. These cotton threads can be dyed before the weaving process to give different colors or designs when woven. Denim made of 100% cotton threads nowadays is known as non-stretch denim, stretch denim by comparison has lyrca/spandex incorporated into some of the yarns before the weaving process to give more elasticity when woven.
Although many different types of jeans have arisen over the years, jeans have stuck to their core principle, durability. Denim is a tough material due to its diagonal pattern, combining this with the high level of customizability in the jean’s construction process gives you a product that’s here to stay.
